Stonebridge Park, North West London | private housing and public space | Europan competition, 2006; winning entry

Following our winning Europan entry, Hyde Housing Association appointed us to develop an outline planning scheme for 120 private residences in the extensive social housing renewal area. Our proposal draws on the familiar London typologies of terraces and mansion blocks to create a perimeter block which both defines important edges along two parks to the north and south, and a new shared garden around an opened-up water culvert. The block is split open to make a residential pedestrian street, increasing the opportunities for social engagement and connecting the new and existing parks.
