New archive, public facilities and Reading Room, Antwerp, Belgium | competition submission, organised by City of Antwerp, 2008
The Plantin-Moretus Museum is formed from the printing workshops and patrician house that have occupied the site since mid-16th century, housing 300 years of typographic work and art collecting. It is the only world heritage site museum in the world and following an open invitation to compete, we were selected as 1 of 5 practices to make detailed design proposals for a new reading room, large archive and public access to these from the labyrinthine circuit of the existing museum.
